The Texas State Student Health Center provides primary care, urgent care, sexual and reproductive health, mental health, sports medicine, transgender care and travel health services to university students. We have experienced healthcare providers, including physicians and nurse practitioners. Services are available by appointment. Medical, laboratory, and digital radiography services are available on-site. The Student Health Center is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

The Student Health Center offers affordable prices for college students and health insurance coverage is not required to receive care. The Student Health Center does offer a university-endorsed student health insurance plan for students without insurance or those seeking more affordable coverage.

The Student Health Center also has a Health Promotion Services department that strives to help students succeed by promoting healthy lifestyles and creating a healthy campus environment at Texas State.

Accreditation

  • The Texas State Student Health Center has chosen to be accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Accreditation is a voluntary process through which an organization is able to measure the quality of its services and performance against nationally recognized standards. The accreditation process involves self-assessment by the organization, as well as a thorough review by AAAHC expert surveyors, who themselves have extensive experience in healthcare.

The accreditation certificate is a symbol of high-quality healthcare. It ensures that an organization adopts the best practices in healthcare and complies with nationally recognized standards.  The Texas State Student Health Center has been accredited by AAAHC since 2003.
