We all have one of those bops that makes us feel like the world is gonna be ok. A song that makes us feel like the powerful baddies we all really are. Healing with Soul is a space for marginalized people and all who support them to heal through the power of music. Sometimes words aren’t enough when it comes to sharing our stories and this is a time we can experience the catharsis of living through tunes. Jam, dance, listen, love, and learn!

"Audrie and Daisy" Documentary Screening

Audrie & Daisy Documentary Thumbnail features silhouettes/shadows of people, the title "Audrie & Daisy" and a Men Against Violence logo. There is a person with long hair sitting in the middle shamed and pointed at by others with their cell phones out.

Date: Thursday, April 25 from 6 - 8 p.m.
Location: Alkek Teaching Theater

We as a campus need to have a space to listen and really hear the stories of victims and survivors of sexual assault. In this documentary screening of Audrie and Daisy, you will get a chance to sit with the reality of the aftermath of sexual violence and how this violence can affect young people. To process and understand the documentary, we will host panel with experts from across campus and beyond to talk about why understanding the individual narratives of survivors is impactful. Come out for a new perspective on a complex issue.

Are you ready to march and dance our way to create safer spaces? Way better than your average middle school dance party, S.L.U.T.S. Dance! Is here to take advocacy to a new level. S.L.U.T.S. Dance! Is a space to cast off the problematic stereotypes of what we must wear to be “presentable and respectable.” We are excited to begin our march at Old Main and make our way down to Sewel Park. We are also excited to bring a representative from Sex Workers Outreach Project- San Antonio to speak before our event. So show up in your sweatpants, show up in your crop top and lets unlearn the slut shaming we’ve been taught for years. Join us at 6 p.m. to march from Old Main to S.L.U.T.S Dance! Bring your heels, bring your dancing shoes.

If you require accommodations due to a disability in order to participate, please contact Kelsey Banton at k_b260@txstate.edu at least 72 hours in advance of the event.
