Healthy Cats Peer Educators infographic states the establishment in 1991. They promote wellness, influence healthy attitudes and behaviors. Experience gained from Healthy Cats includes public speaking skills, service hours, giving back to the community and leadership skills. Presentations are listed and joining Healthy Cats is open to all students, meetings are every Tuesday at 5 p.m. on the second floor of the Student Health Center.

Request a Presentation

Presentations are available for classes, organizations, residence halls or any other group wanting to learn more about specific health topics. Below is a list of current presentation topics. If you do not see the topic you are looking for, send an e-mail with a description of the type of information you would like presented. If given ample time, we would be happy to put something new together for you!

Please click here to request a presentation. Please give at least two weeks notice for all requests. You will be contacted within five business days with a response.  In addition, please note that we do not facilitate presentations during the last week of classes that precede finals week.


Joining Healthy Cats

Joining Healthy Cats has many benefits. It provides you with a chance to increase your knowledge about health-related issues, gain self-confidence, improve your communication skills, and to provide a needed service on your campus.

You should consider joining Healthy Cats if you have a desire to work with the Texas State community, motivation to increase knowledge of health, and a sincere concern for the overall being of yourself and other students. Healthy Cats members must be able to work independently or on a team and have the ability to be open-minded and non-judgmental when discussing sensitive issues. Healthycats meetings are held every Tuesday at 5:00pm in the Student Health Center Conference Room located on the second floor.
