Pregnancy
Your decision to continue a pregnancy, to place the child for adoption or to have an abortion is not a simple or easy one. It is important to make the choice that is best for you. Talking with family members, friends and loved ones can help. The following information is intended to help you think about your options so that you can make the decision that is right for you.
The Planned Parenthood website offers an overview of available pregnancy options. Through a series of questions and considerations, you can assess whether you would like to keep the baby, place the baby for adoption or have an abortion. If you would like to talk with someone about pregnancy testing, pregnancy options or any other questions concerning pregnancy, there are several resources on campus you can contact. The resources listed below may be utilized by women, men or by couples who wish to speak with someone together.
Texas State Resources

Walk-ins and appointments are welcome to obtain confidential answers to health questions. Located in suite 201 of the Student Health Center at the corner of Sessom and Tomas Rivera Drive.
Student Health Center (512) 245-2167
Call to make an appointment with a medical provider for a physical examination and pregnancy testing. The Student Health Center does not provide prenatal or abortion services but can provide referrals. All services are confidential.
Counseling Center (512) 245-2208
Counselors are available to discuss all issues of pregnancy and decision-making. Call to make an appointment. All counseling sessions are confidential.

The National Woman's Health Information Center
Available through the United States Department of Health and Human Services, this site offers information about the various aspects of pregnancy as well as resources in Spanish.
Safe Place for Newborns
Safe Place for Newborns exists to prevent the abandonment of newborn children, thus helping to preserve the health and future of their mothers.
Planned Parenthood
Counselors are available to discuss all concerns and explore all available pregnancy options. Services available include routine gynecological care, contraceptive services, pregnancy testing, HIV testing, STI testing and treatment, emergency contraception, abortion support groups and surgical and medical abortion services. Call for information or to make an appointment.
