Allergies

Hayfever Hives

Spring: it is a season enjoyed by most people. For people with allergies, though, it can also be a miserable period of time involving sneezing, congestion and coughing. Allergies, of course, are not limited to plants. People can also be allergic to substances, called allergens, such as medications, food, insect bites and animals. Usually, allergies tend to be more of a nuisance than a real problem, but they can be dangerous depending on the severity of the allergic reaction. For instance, a person could have a severe asthma attack or anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic reaction that requires emergency medical assistance.

In this section, you will find general information concerning the less severe allergic reactions. These type of reactions include hay fever and hives but can also include contact dermatitis and mild respiratory reactions.
