Administrative Assistant II/Call Center Supervisor

Salary Range:  $2,300 - $2,667+/month commensurate with experience for full-time position

Job Description

The Texas State University Student Health Center is seeking a full-time Call Center Supervisor. This position is responsible for the overall operation of the Call Center. Professional and student employees answer calls and schedule appointments with medical providers, collect health insurance information, take messages or transfer calls to appropriate staff. The Call Center Supervisor hires and trains new employees, conducts performance appraisals, addresses complaints and develops work schedules. The Supervisor is responsible for developing appointment scheduling guidelines, policies and procedures. The Supervisor will also assess the quality of services and implement changes for improvement. A significant portion of the Supervisor's time will be spent answering calls to the Call Center. The Call Center Supervisor reports to the Manager for Medical Billing.

Duties

Responsible for the overall operation of the Call Center. Interviews, hires and trains new employees. Responsible for employee appraisals and professional development. Addresses employee performance issues and complaints. Collaborates with other staff to develop appointment scheduling guidelines. Develops guidelines for documenting medical provider phone messages and transferring calls to the triage nurse. Develops an effective process for collecting health insurance information when appointments are being scheduled. Collaborates with the Quality Improvement Team to develop tools for assessing the effectiveness of Call Center services. Answers telephone calls in the Call Center, takes phone messages and transfers calls to nurses and others as appropriate. Represents the Call Center on committees and teams as assigned. Reports to the Manager for Medical Billing.

 

Required Qualifications

1. Experience answering telephones and scheduling medical appointments.
2. Experience supervising other employees.
3. Experience using a personal computer and Microsoft Office software

 

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience working in a Primary Care setting, including Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Pediatrics.
2. Experience writing policies or procedures.
3. Experience using an electronic medical record or practice management system.
4. Experience checking health insurance eligibility and benefits by phone or online.

Duties

Provide primary medical care to eligible students within the scope of family medicine and following the standard of care for an advanced practice nurse. Document patient encounters in an Electronic Health Record. Assign accurate Evaluation & Management (E&M) codes for patient visits to support the filing of health insurance claims. Consult with supervising physician when appropriate and make referrals to other healthcare providers as necessary.

 

Required Qualifications

1) Texas Advanced Practice Nurse license with prescriptive authority. Must be in good standing with Texas Medical Board and Texas Board of Nursing.
2) Board Certified in Family Practice
3) DPS registration
4) DEA registration

 

Preferred Qualifications

1) Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate.
2) Experience working in primary care setting.
3) Computer experience including use of Microsoft Office and documenting in electronic health records

Student Health Center (SHC) at Texas State University-San Marcos is seeking a full-time or part-time (minimum 20 hours/week) PSYCHIATRIST for an ambulatory outpatient clinic. SHC is a nationally accredited ambulatory health care facility, complete with an in-house lab, x-ray and pharmacy. Our team-oriented organization serves a college population of 36,000+ students. Clinic hours are 8am to 5pm MWF and 9am to 6pm T-Th. No on-call duty, nights or weekends, but additional hours are occasionally required.

Duties

Psychiatrist is responsible for providing psychiatric care to students with mental health disorders in accordance with guidelines and accepted standards of care in psychiatry. Provide consultation to medical providers at the Student Health Center and counselors at the Counseling Center. Document all psychiatric care and consultation in the Electronic Medical Record. Supervise and train a licensed vocational nurse assistant. Cover for part-time psychiatrist as needed.

 

Required Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Current Texas license in good standing with the Texas Medical Board. Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Current Texas license in good standing with the Texas Medical Board. Current DEA/DPS registrations. Psychiatry residents completing their program by July 2015 may apply for this position.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry. Minimum of three years of experience practicing psychiatry after completing residency. Experience working with college, young adult, or culturally diverse populations.
