Well Woman Exam
- About the Well Woman Exam
- The Well Woman Exam is an annual gynecological check up that includes:
- A check of your vital signs
- Blood pressure
- Temperature
- Heart rate
- Head-to-toe physical examination. This includes:
- Breast exam
- Pelvic exam
- Pap smear
- Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and other sexually transmitted infections testing as needed.
- Birth control counseling and prescriptions
- The cost of the exam is $60 to $70 . This price includes the chlamydia and gonorrhea tests. Tests for additional sexually transmitted infections will be performed at an extra cost.
- How to make an appointment
- Please call (512) 245-2167 to make your appointment, or schedule your appointment online. When scheduling a well woman exam, be aware that you may have to wait 2 weeks during the fall and spring semesters.
- About our Women's Clinic
- The Student Health Center's Women's Clinic strives to provide women with a comfortable environment where they can feel at ease and respected. The clinic is a place where women can ask questions of a sensitive or uncomfortable nature and get the answers they need.
- In order to increase your comfort level, only female providers work in the Women's Clinic, and we allow you to choose which provider you see.

- About Pap Smears
- A part of the well woman exam, this is an annual cervical cancer test that women are encouraged to have once they turn 21 or become sexually active, whichever comes first. If there is a history of sexual activity, a gonorrhea and chlamydia test will be administered at the same time as the Pap smear.
- Please do not schedule your appointment when you will be on your period. Also, do not insert tampons or have sexual intercourse for at least two days prior to your appointment.
