Texas State University Student Health Center ~ Special Appointments: Physical Exams

Physical Exams

Who is required to have a physical

Those who are participating in the health professions and athletic training programs are required to have a physical exam. Please call (512) 245-2167 to schedule your appointment.

What is required prior to the exam

Before you schedule an appointment for your physical, you must have obtained your immunization record, participated in an immunization record review, and had a TB test administered. The Student Health Center will NOT have a copy of your immunization record unless you have previously sent a copy to us. Check with your family doctor, your parents, or your high school to get a copy of your immunization record. Please bring this with you when you come for your immunization record review appointment.

Immunization requirements for the physical exam

You must be able to show proof of having completed your polio immunizations, a second MMR, a Tetanus less that 10 years old, and a TB test less than one year old. Some immunizations needed can be administered by the Student Health Center; for a list of available immunizations, please call (512) 245-2167.
