Appointments

All Student Health Center services are provided by appointment. All future and same-day appointments can be scheduled by calling 512.245.2161 to speak with an appointment clerk. Appointments can be made up to two weeks in advance.

When your student calls:

It is important that students call to make their own appointments as the appointment clerk will need to ask them specific questions concerning their health in order to better serve them.
  • Your student should be prepared to determine the best time for the appointment.
  • They should have a pen, something to write on, their calendar, class schedule and Texas State ID number.
  • They should be prepared to discuss their symptoms or the reason for the visit. If needed, they should take their temperature before calling. Please note that digital thermometers can be purchased at the Student Health Center.
  • Remember: Your student will be speaking to an apointment clerk on the phone. If your student has any medical questions, the appointment clerk will route the patient to a registered nurse.
  • Remind your student to bring their Texas State Student ID with them to their appointment.

Payment Options:

Payment is due at the time of service. Students are required to present their Texas State ID when visiting the Student Health Center. The Student Health Center accepts cash, checks, Bobcat Bucks, all major credit cards and most flex (HSA) cards. Students or parents may use the Quick Pay option by completing this form and sending to the Student Health Center. This will hold a credit card number on file to be used if needed for medical services.

Does the Student Health Center accept insurance?

The Student Health Center has plans to accept private insurance in the future. At this time, the Health Center will file courtesy insurance claims upon request, which may result in a possible reimbursement. Patients should bring their insurance card to their visit and discuss their options with Cashier staff during check out.
