All Student Health Center services are provided by appointment. There are two ways to make an appointment. You can schedule a same-day appointment online or you can call the Student Health Center at 512.245.2167, option 2 and speak to a nurse. Appointments made over the phone can be made up to two weeks in advance.
When scheduling online:
- The first time you use the online appointment system, you will be asked to register with a user name and password (remember that the information here must exactly match the university's information).
- Online scheduling opens at 6 a.m. and is for same-day appointments only.
- You will receive a confirmation e-mail in your Texas State inbox after your appointment has been made.
- You can cancel appointments online.
- Please note: If you are unable to schedule an online appointment call 512.245.2167 to speak to a nurse. The nurse may be able to get you a same day appointment, schedule a future appointment or offer self care advice.
When your student calls:
It is important that students call to make their own appointments as the registered nurse will need to ask them specific questions concerning their health in order to better serve them.
- Your student should be prepared to determine the best time for the appointment.
- They should have a pen, something to write on, their calendar, class schedule and Texas State ID number.
- They should be prepared to discuss their symptoms or the reason for the visit. If needed, they should take their temperature before calling. Please note that digital thermometers can be purchased at the cashier windows.
- Remember: Your student will be speaking to a registered nurse on the phone. They should feel free to ask medical questions they have.
- Remind your student to bring their Texas State Student ID with them to their appointment.
When paying for services:
Payment is due at the time of service. Students are required to present their Texas State Student ID when visiting the Student Health Center. The Student Health Center accepts cash, checks, Bobcat Bucks or any major credit card. Students or parents may use the QuickPay option by completing this form and sending to the Student Health Center. This will hold a credit card number on file to be used if needed for medical services.
