What services are available at the Student Health Center?
Medical Services - Women's Clinic - Mental Health Services
- Medical Services
- The Student Health Center is staffed by several full-time physicians and nurse practitioners. We offer medical care similar to what you would receive from your family physician.

- Meet our medical providers.
- The Nurse Clinic provides a broad range of reasonably priced services for patients, including:
- TB skin testing - $15
- Immunizations
- Tetanus/Diphtheria - $35
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella - $55
- Hepatitis A (series of 2 injections) - $40 each
- Hepatitis B (series of 3 injections)
- Under the age of 20 - $20 each
- Ages 20 and up - $40 each
- Meningitis - $100
- HPV Vaccine - $150
- Anonymous HIV antibody testing - $20 for the two-day test, $40 for the 30-minute test
- Pregnancy testing/counseling
- Urine test - $15
- Blood test - $25
- Emergency Contraceptive Pills
- Can be purchased over-the-counter at the Pharmacy
- Allergy injections
- Initial injection - $25
- Each subsequent visit - $15 (regardless of how many injections you receive at that time)
- Smoking cessation program
- Students
- Initial - $5
- Follow-up - free
- Faculty and staff
- Initial - $10
- Follow-up - free

- On-site lab and state of the art digital radiology (x-ray) services are available.
- Many lab tests are performed while you wait.
- Most lab results are available within two days.
- Laboratory prices vary but are often lower than what you might pay elsewhere. Please call
(512) 245-2161 if you have any pricing questions.
- We can perform tests or x-rays ordered by your private physician. Simply provide a doctor's order, and the results can be faxed to their office.
- X-ray services cost $35 per exam and include interpretation by a radiologist.
- Women's Clinic
- The Student Health Center's Women's Clinic is designed to provide women with a comfortable environment where women feel at ease, respected and can ask questions of a sensitive or uncomfortable nature.
- We provide several services including annual well woman exams and other routine gynecological exams, such as:
- Annual Pap Smear and Well Woman Exam
- The price of the Well Woman Exam is $60 to $70.
- Contraceptive counseling
- Prescriptions for contraception

- Condoms (for sale over-the-counter at the Pharmacy)

- Evaluation and treatment of menstrual concerns
- Evaluation and treatment of common gynecological conditions and other reproductive health concerns, such as vaginal infections
- Mental Health Services
- The physicians at the Student Health Center treat patients with mental health concerns, such as:
- Depression
- Anxiety problems
- Panic attacks
- Eating disorders
- ADHD
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder
- Adjustment problems related to college
- Patients may also be referred to psychiatrists contracted to see patients on specific days in the Student Health Center.
- Patients with the following conditions may also see a psychiatrist at the Student Health Center:
- Bipolar disorder
- Personality disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- Dual diagnosis
- Unclear presentations
- Disorders that did not respond to treatment by the Student Health Center's medical providers
- The cost is $35 for one hour visits and $20 for thirty minutes.
- The psychiatrists see patients by referral only.
